Next stop on our rewarding tour through France is Besancon, with its 120,000 inhabitants the
capital of the Franche-Comté region not far from the Swiss border.
The plant is owned by a cooperative of energy users (customers!). Plant operator is Elyon, a
daughter company to the French giant SUEZ.
We will retrofit the older (1976) of the two Waste to Energy units with our low-NOx
technique, including a new tertiary air register with injection of urea. Three(!) various
fuels are combusted on this site, besides waste also biomass and coal in two separate
boilers.
The heat supplied to the district heating net is in the form of steam (20 bar, 235oC), which
shows this plant has an old history. 3.3 ton waste per hour is incinerated and the flue gas
cleaning system comprises a baghouse with limestone injection.
The order has a value of approximately 7 MSEK to ECOMB AB.
